Petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.107 dated 30.11.2023 under Sections 323, 341, 506, 148, 149 Indian Penal Code, Police Station Sadar, Rupnagar, District Rupnagar and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 20.08.2025. Sections 279, 324, 326 IPC were added in the FIR during investigation. 2. On 25.09.2025 and 22.07.2026, this Court directed the parties to appear before learned trial Court/Illaqa Magistrate for recording of their statements on the basis of compromise. 3. In compliance of the aforesaid order, parties appeared before learned JMIC, Rupnagar on 12.11.2025 and 27.07.2026. Statement of Investigating Officer ASI Jarnail Singh was recorded on 11.11.2025. Statement of the Investigating Officer of the case Yes, recorded. 5. Short reply by way of affidavit of Rajpal Singh Gill, PPS, DSP, Sub Division, Rupnagar, District Rupnagar has been filed by State of Punjab, which is taken on record. Learned State counsel and learned counsel for respondents No.2 and 3 have not raised any dispute regarding the factum of compromise between petitioners and respondents No.2 and 3. 5. Since the matter has been amicably settled between the parties, continuation of the criminal proceedings would be an exercise in futility. Following principles of law laid down by the Full Bench Judgment of this Court in “Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and another” 2007(3) RCR (Criminal) 1052 and Hon’ble Supreme Court in “Gian Singh Versus State of Punjab and others” (2012) 10 SCC 303, the petition is allowed. 6. FIR No.107 dated 30.11.2023 under Sections 323, 341, 506, 279, 324, 326, 148, 149, Indian Penal Code, Police Station Sadar, Rupnagar, District Rupnagar and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, are quashed qua the petitioners. 7. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, stand disposed of.
