According to them, they got married against the wish of parents and family members of petitioner no.1, therefore, they are extending threat to the petitioners. 4. As per documents enclosed with the writ petition, both the petitioners are major. Date of birth of petitioner no.1 is 02.08.2004 and date of birth of petitioner no.2 is 10.05.2002. 5. Petitioners appeared before us. Petitioner no.2 stated that he is employed with a private company, namely, Panasonic Life Solution India Private Limited at SIDCUL, Haridwar. Petitioner no.1 stated that she is pursuing B.Sc. (Agriculture) course from a private college, namely, Hind Valley Group of Institutions, Padartha, Haridwar. 6. Learned State Counsel submits that since both the petitioners are major and they have voluntarily entered into matrimonial alliance, 2025:UHC:5827-DB therefore, he has no objection if protection is given to them for a reasonable time. 7. In view of law laid down by Hon’ble Apex Court in Lata Singh v. State of U.P. and another, (2006) 5 SCC 475, we dispose of the writ petition with direction to the S.H.O., Laksar, Haridwar to provide protection to the petitioners for a period of six weeks. Upon expiry of six weeks, S.H.O. concerned shall assess the threat perception to the petitioners and adopt such measures, as deemed necessary for their safety and security. 8.
