At this stage, I find substance in the argument of learned Senior Advocate appearing for petitioner that Disciplinary Authority has not followed the procedure prescribed in Regulation 7, i.e., “Action on the Inquiry Report”, of Canara Bank Officers Employees (Discipline and Appeal) Regulations, 1976 (hereinafter referred to as “Regulations, 1976”) since no reason has been assigned by Disciplinary Authority after consideration of charge- sheeted officer’s submission. 3. Learned counsel appearing for Respondent-Bank refers documents and contents of impugned order but is not able to show any independent consideration of Disciplinary Authority in impugned order. Therefore, this Court is of the opinion that punishment order dated 30.04.2024 is an unreasoned order, specifically when major penalty was imposed on petitioner. 4. In aforesaid circumstances, impugned punishment order dated 30.04.2024 as well as appellate order dated 02.05.2025 are hereby set aside. The matter is remitted back to Disciplinary Authority to pass a fresh order in terms of above referred provision within a period of four weeks from today. 5.
