(Oral) The prayer in the present petition under Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 is for quashing/setting aside the order dated 09.07.2025 passed by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chandigarh (Annexure P-4) in FIR No.170 dated 24.09.2024 under Sections 118(1) and 3(5) of BNS, 2023 and under Sections 118(2), 117(2) and 140(4) and 238 of BNS, 2023 (added later on), registered at Police Station Central Sector-17, District Chandigarh whereby the petitioners were declared proclaimed persons. 2. On 22.08.2025, the following order was passed:- “The learned counsel for the petitioners contends that pursuant to the petitioners being declared proclaimed persons, the matter stands compromised vide order dated 08.07.2025 (Annexure P-7). Notice of motion for 16.10.2025. Subject to a deposit of Rs.50,000/- as costs with the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, Account no. KUSUM 2026.09.04 12:16 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC Chandigarh CRM-M-45866-2025 -2- 65035682434 Name of the Bank: State Bank of India, High Court Branch, IFSC:-SBIN0050306, the operation of the order dated 09.07.2025 (Annexure P-4) shall remain stayed.” 3. The amount of Rs.50,000/- as ordered stands deposited. The petition for quashing of the FIR on the basis of a compromise bearing CRM- M-61141-2025 stands allowed vide an order of even date i.e. 03.09.2026. 4. In view of the above, no useful purpose would be served by allowing the P.O. order emanating out of FIR No.170 dated 24.09.2024 under Sections 118(1) and 3(5) of BNS, 2023 and under Sections 118(2), 117(2) and 140(4) and 238 of BNS, 2023 (added later on), registered at Police Station Central Sector-17, District Chandigarh to continue once the FIR itself stands quashed. 5. In view of the above, the impugned order dated 09.07.2025 and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. 6. All the pending miscellaneous applications, if any, stand disposed of.
