Petitioners have approached this Court for protection. According to them, they got married against the wish of family members of petitioner no. 1, on 15.07.2024, due to which the parents and family members of petitioner no. 1 are unhappy and they are extending threat to both the petitioners. As per the documents enclosed with the writ petition, both the petitioners are major. 4. Petitioners appeared before us. They are identified by their counsel. Petitioner no. 2 stated that he is employed with a private firm, namely, Shivam Auto Ltd. at SIIDCUL, Haridwar. Petitioner no. 1 stated that she has passed 12th standard and presently she is pursuing B.A. from a college at Roorkee. 5. Learned State Counsel submits that since both the petitioners are major and as per documents enclosed with the writ petition, they 2025:UHC:5748-DB are legally married, therefore, he has no objection, if protection is granted to petitioners. 6. We, accordingly, dispose of the writ petition with direction to Station House Officer, Police Station, Laksar, District Haridwar to provide protection to petitioners for a period of 6 weeks to ensure that no harm is caused to them by private respondents or any other person acting at their behest. Upon expiry of 6 weeks, the SHO concerned shall make fresh assessment of threat perception of petitioners and take such steps, as are felt necessary. 7.
