Impugned in this petition is Detention Order No. 58/DMP/PSA/DET/2022 dated 08.07.2022 passed by District Magistrate, Anantnag, whereby the detenu has been detained under the preventive detention with a view to prevent him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of security of state. 2. It is fairly submitted by learned counsel for the parties that the detention order was executed on 24.08.2022 and the maximum period of the same is two years, which has already expired, therefore, impugned order has outlived its life. 3. In view of submission made by learned counsel for the parties, this petition by afflux of time is rendered infructuous and, is accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the respondents to release the detenu forthwith, if still in custody provided he is not involved in any other offence.
