By the present application, the applicant/convict is praying for condoning delay of 261 days in filing the accompanying appeal against the conviction and sentence order dated 24.4.2024 and 29.4.2024 passed by the learned Special Judge (POCSO), Ukhrul in Special Trial (POCSO) Case No.02 of 2019. It is submitted that the applicant belongs to a remote village and matter was conducted by legal aid counsel and it took some time in approaching the present counsel for filing the appeal. It is submitted that the delay of 261 days be condoned and matter may be heard on merit. This Court has perused the application and considered the submissions made at the Bar and satisfied with the reasons stated. Accordingly, the delay of 261 days in filing the accompanying appeal is condoned. Misc case is allowed. Registry is directed to register the connected appeal if the same is in order.
