The petitioner has filed the present writ petition for a direction to the Central Information Commission to expeditiously adjudicate and dispose the petitioner’s second appeal dated 17.02.2024 filed under the Right to Information Act, 2005 and to ensure that the information sought is given in a time bound manner. After the issuance of notice to the respondents an affidavit has been filed by the Deputy Secretary of the Central Information Commission dated 24.04.2025. It is stated therein that the second appeal of the petitioner has already been registered as file no.CIC/DONER/A/2024/106970 in the Commission and shall be heard in due course. 2. The second appeal is dated 17.02.2024 and it seems not even a preliminary hearing has taken place till now. In the facts and circumstances of the present case the W.P. (C) No.42 of 2024 is disposed of with a request to the Commission to expedite the hearing as per their calendar and give a definite date to the petitioner. Ordered accordingly.
