PUBLIC PROSECUTOR The Court made the following: The petitioner is arraigned as the accused in Crime No.31 of 2025 of Madanapalle Rural Police Station for the alleged offences under Section 108 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS) and Sections 3(2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC & ST) Prevention of Atrocities (POA) Act. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is alleged to have abetted the suicide of one Narsimhulu.

2. r . 2 complaint before the Station House Officer, Madanapalle Town Rural Police Station on 04.02.2025. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that, as per the complaint, the 2"^ respondent had admitted that that there have been disputes between the families of the 2"'^ respondent and the petitioner for the last twenty years. These disputes relate to the granting of access to the lands of the 2^^ respondent. It is also stated in the complaint that the de facto complainant’s husband had been attempting to secure access to his agricultural land, which the petitioner allegedly obstructed and denied. It is further stated in the complaint that she suspects the petitioner’s involvement in the death of her husband. 4. Initially, the police registered a case under Section 194 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS). However, the charges were later amended to include Section 108 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS) and Sections 3(2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC & ST) Prevention of Atrocities (POA) Act. 5. On the last day of hearing, this Court requested the learned Public Prosecutor to ascertain the cause of death. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Assistant Prosecutor submitted that the husband of the petitioner had committed suicide. 3
6. Considering the nature of the allegations in the complaint and the
submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the Station House Officer, Madanamm Police Station to expedite in investigation in Crime No.31 of 2025. petitioner is directed to cooperate with the investigation. As long as the petitioner cooperates with the investigation, the investigating officer shall not take any coercive steps against the petitioner. The
7. With these observations, the criminal petition is disposed off. As a sequel thereto, interlocutory applications pending, if any shall stand closqd.
