Heard. 2. Mr. T. M. Shamsi, learned DSGI appears and accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 3. Petitioner through the medium of the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has sought the issuance of a direction/writ in the nature of mandamus for commanding the respondents to renew and re-issue passport in her favour in accordance with the law particularly in the light of the office memorandum dated 26.11.2015 issued by the Ministry of External Affairs Government of India, by rectifying the error in the date of birth and treating the details provided in the corrected application as final. 4. The case of the petitioner in nutshell is that she is holding a valid Indian Passport bearing No. U7607087 which has been issued for a period of five years with the date of issue being 21.08.2020 and valid until 20.08.2025. The petitioner applied for renewal of passport on 15.02.2025 and submitted all the details, and paid the requisite fee as well. That it is submitted she has duly corrected the date of birth as 10.04.2012, as per the Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Authorities and the Aadhar Card. 5. I have heard the learned counsel for the parties and considered their rival submissions. 6. In the facts and circumstances of the case, this court is of the opinion that matter can be disposed of even at this threshold stage by passing of such appropriate orders which may not prejudice the rights of any of the parties. 7. The instant petition is taken up for final disposal and is accordingly disposed of with the direction to the respondents to consider the renewal/re-issuance of the passport in favour of the petitioner with the mention of her correct date of birth in the same in an expeditious manner, in accordance with the law governing the field, having regard to the fact of the petitioner still being a minor. 8.
