The petitioner has preferred this petition seeking direction directing the respondent passport authority to renew the passport of the petitioner for a period of 10 years as the petitioner intends to travel abroad. 2. Heard learned Advocate Mr. Pratik Jasani for the petitioner, Ms.Shruti Pathak, learned APP for the respondent State and Mr. Pradip Bhate, learned Standing Counsel for respondent No.2 - Passport Authority. 3. Rule. Learned advocates appearing for the respondents waive Rule. 4. Learned Advocate for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has preferred an application for renewal of his passport before trial Court, which came to be allowed, however, did not specify the number of years for the purpose of renewal of the passport. Therefore, present petition is preferred. 5. This Court has considered the submissions canvassed by learned advocate for the parties and has also perused the material placed on record. In the facts and circumstances of the present case and having regard to the cause shown in the memo of Application as well as the Noti.cation of Ministry of External A1airs, GSR 570(E) dated 25th August, 1993, the petition is allowed. Accordingly, the Passport Authority concerned is directed to R/SCR.A/10459/2025 ORDER DATED: 25/07/2025 renew the Passport of the petitioner for a period of 10 years. It is clari.ed that, as and when the petitioner wants to travel abroad, he shall have to approach the concerned trial Court with appropriate proceeding/s.
