J.V.Sakthi Baalakrishnan Government Counsel FOR R2 ORDER The present writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of Mandamus, directing respondents to pay a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- towards compensation, for the electrocution death of petitioner’s husband namely G.Ranganathan caused due to the gross negligence and failure on the part of the respondent authorities. 2. At the outset, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1, 3 to 5 would submit that petitioner's representation dated 13.07.2024 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed, keeping in view the Board proceedings dated 21.12.2024 and other relevant Board Proceeding Rules, within a time period to be stipulated by this Court. In view of the same, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent concerned to consider the representation dated 13.07.2024 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, keeping in view the Board proceedings dated 21.12.2024 and any other relevant Board Proceeding Rules, after issuing notice and after affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to petitioner and any other interested persons within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for receipt of certified copy of the order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views on the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the case on its own merits and in accordance with law. It is always open to petitioner approach the appropriate forum, if aggrieved by the compensation awarded. 4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of.
