The following reliefs have been claimed in the present writ petition: "1) Issue a suitable writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, commanding the respondents, particularly the Station House Officer, Police Station Ramgarh, Firozabad, not to interfere in the petitioner's lawful business of meat selling at Firozabad. 2) Direct the competent authority, Firozabad, to take necessary and appropriate action on the petitioner complaint dated 24.01.2025 regarding illegal obstruction by local police." 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner, at the outset, submits that the petitioner is having no objection from Nagar Nigam and valid license under the relevant provisions of law but still the respondents are interfering in the running of business of selling meat by the petitioner. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner in support of his submission places reliance on the document annexed at page 16, which is no objection granted by Nagar Nigam Firozabad. He also places reliance on the document at page 15 in contending that the petitioner possesses a valid license. 4. We have gone through the document at page 15 of the writ petition and we find that it is not a license but only an agreement between the petitioner and Rustam Foods Pvt. Ltd. appointing the petitioner as retailer/whole-seller of the products of the company. 5. It could not be disputed before us that the business of sale of meat cannot be carried out without having a valid license under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. As no such license has been shown to us, therefore, we find no merit in the writ petition. 6. The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed. Order Date :- 20.8.2025 Mukesh Kr.
