No.1814 of 2025 3.The petitioner being the Councilor of Ward No.196, had taken steps to construct Anganwadi in open space of one Nursery School at 19th Cross Street, Kannagi Nagar, Chennai, with prior approval from CMDA in the year 2000. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the second respondent for release of funds from and out of the Councilor Development Funds and the second respondent approved for the release of funds to the tune of Rs.30 Lakhs. Thereafter, a tender was called for construction of Anganwadi building. The contract was also awarded to the Contractor for construction of Anganwadi. Whileso, the sixth respondent, who is the 196th Ward Secretary objected to construct Anganwadi. Therefore, the petitioner lodged complaint and on receipt of the same, the fourth respondent requested the Zonal Officer of Corporation of Chennai to verify and submit report. Subsequently, the Zonal Officer, Zone 15 Greater Chennai Corporation vide communication dated 25.08.2025 to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Pallikaranai District Rang requested to give necessary police protection for commencement of construction of Anganwadi at Kannagi Nagar. 4.In view of the above, the fifth respondent is directed to 4/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.
