This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with the following prayers:-
“(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, commanding/directing the respondents to declare incumbent to the post of President, State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Uttarakhand, Dehradun as per the provisions of the Act No.35 of 2019 before it becomes vacant on
04.07.2025.
In Alternative
(ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, commanding/directing Mrs. Kumkum Rani (Retd. District Judge, Uttarakhand) to continue to hold and perform all functions and duties of her current post as President of State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Uttarakhand, Dehradun till fresh appointment to the post of President, State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Uttarakhand, 1
2025:UHC:5736 Dehradun are made by the respondents even after her retirement on 04.07.2025. (iii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, commanding/ directing the respondents to decide the representation dated 28.05.2025 (Annexure No.5 to this writ petition) as expeditiously as possible. (iv) Pass such other or further orders in favour of petitioner, which this Hon’ble Court may deem, fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case. (v) Award the cost of writ petition in favour of petitioner. ”
2. Heard Mr. Sagar Kothari, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Bhupendra Singh Koranga, learned Brief Holder for the respondents.
3. Mr. Sagar Kothari, Advocate, submitted that the present writ petition has become infructuous.
