This writ petition has been filed for quashing the order dated 29.7.2025 passed by the Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), Kushinagar in Case No.00011/2020 (State of U.P. vs. Ritesh Singh) under section 3/4 of U.P. Goondas Control Act, 1970 (hereinafter referred to as the "Goondas Act") by which the petitioner had been externed. 2. Contention of learned counsel for the petitioner is that the cases on the basis of which the petitioner had been externed were either no longer in existence or the petitioner had been bailed out in them. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that no useful purpose would be served by filing an appeal. 3. Learned AGA, however, states that the petitioner has an efficacious alternative remedy of filing an appeal under section 6 of the Goondas Act. 4. We, therefore, provide that if the petitioner files an appeal within a period of 15 days from today before the authority concerned along with a certified copy of this order, then the same shall be considered without going into the question of limitation and shall be decided within a period of one month from the date of filing of the appeal. It is further provided that for a period of two months or till the decision of the appeal, whichever is earlier, the petitioner shall not be externed. 5.
