It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner is practitioner of modern allopathic system of medicine for more than 23 years on the basis of qualification of Indian Board of Medicine, siddha, unani and naturopathy etc. However, the respondents are labelling the petitioner as unqualified and they are threatening legal action, thereby affecting the rights of the petitioner to do his profession. 3.The learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) submitted that the competent law enforcing agency is ‘The Inspector of Police, Sultanpet Police Station, Coimbatore’, whereas, in the writ petition, it is stated as ‘The Inspector of Police, Sulur Police Station, Coimbatore’. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP Crl. No. 1803 of 2025 4. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 5. In view of the above, the respondents are directed to permit the petitioner to practice in modern allopathic system of medicine alone. So long as the petitioner is practicing in the said mode of medicine, the respondents and their police officials are restrained from initiating any action against the petitioner. However, it is open to the respondents or their officials to verify and find out whether the petitioner is practicing in other fields, viz., Siddha, Unani, Ayurveda etc., and if the petitioner is practicing in such fields, it is open to the police officials to initiate action against the petitioner in accordance with law. 6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
