The petition in hand has been preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India with the following substantive prayer(s):- “It is therefore respectfully prayed that the present petition may kindly be allowed and direction may kindly be issued to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners which is in danger at the hands of private respondents as the respondent No.4 & 5 are threatening the petitioner and her family member with dire consequences. With a further prayer for the issuance of the appropriate direction to the official respondents to take appropriate legal action against respondent No.4 & 5 on the basis of allegations made in the Representation dated 10.07.2025 (Annexure P-4) since petitioner being harassed by the local police at the instance of accused party and is cooperating the accused party. The local police is not hearing the request of the petitioners.” 2. Notice of motion. 4. On the strength of advance copy, Mr. Rahil Mahajan, Addl. P.P. U.T. Chandigarh accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3. He has urged that he has no objection in case limited prayer made by the petitioner, for decision of his representation dated 10.07.2025 (Annexure P-4), is directed for. 5. Having heard learned counsel for the rival party(s) and upon perusal of the paper-book, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the petition in hand with the following directions: (i) Respondent No.2 (Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh) is mandated to look into the representation dated 10.07.2025 (Annexure P-4) moved by the petitioner, objectively consider the grievance(s) raised therein & take ratiocinated decision thereupon within a period of 15 days from today. Said decision be conveyed to the petitioner within 7 days thereafter. (ii) No order as to costs. (iii) Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed off.
