The petitioner is an accused in connection with Chatra Sadar P.S. Case No. 362 of 2024.
On an information, Police had intercepted four motorcycles and a Creta car and some persons were apprehended. From the car 8 kgs of cannabis was recovered and 18 kgs of cannabis from each motorcycle was recovered.
Mr. Mazumdar, learned senior counsel for the petitioner submits that the Creta car belongs to the petitioner from which intermediary quantity of cannabis was recovered. It has been submitted, on instruction, that the petitioner does not have any criminal antecedent and he is in custody since 01.12.2024.
Learned Spl. P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner.
Regard being had to the fact that intermediary quantity of cannabis was recovered from the car in which the petitioner was present apart from the period of custody undergone by the petitioner, he is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/-(Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, NDPS, Chatra in connection with Chatra Sadar P.S. Case No. 362 of 2024.
This application stands allowed.
