By means of the instant petition, the petitioners seek directions to the respondents so that the petitioners may be permitted to continue their services to the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) till their regularization. Certain other reliefs have also been sought. Heard. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were appointed with the respondent-department on contractual basis on the post of Junior Engineer. They worked for more than 7 years, but, suddenly, their services were discontinued in the year 2021. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have made a representation to the respondent no.2, the Engineer-In-Chief and Head of the Department, which has yet not been decided, which is Annexure no.6 to the writ petition. Learned State Counsel would submit that the representation given by the petitioner, which is Annexure No. 6 to the writ petition, will be decided by the respondents within a period of 4 weeks. The Court takes on record the statement given by learned State Counsel.
