Serial No.11 REGULAR CAUSE LIST IN THE HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR CCP(S)/336/2019 Wazir Hussain & Anr …Petitioner(s) Through: None Vs. G.N. Itoo ...Respondent(s) Through: None CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAHUL BHARTI, JUDGE ORDER 19.08.2025 1. In this contempt petition filed on 04.07.2019 the petitioner alleged non-compliance of the directions given by the writ Court in this order dated 28.12.2016, which led to the disposal of the writ petition bearing OWP No. 1541/2016 preferred by the two petitioners, in terms whereof the writ respondents were directed to accord consideration to the claim of the petitioners in the light of the averments made in the writ petition and annexures thereto. 2. The needful exercise was to be done within a period of eight weeks from the date a copy of the order dated 28.12.2016 being served on the writ respondents. 3. It seems that the petitioners acted at their own leisure in the matter of coming forward with the institution of the contempt petition, consuming two and half years without a whisper of reference in the contempt petition as to when they served the copy of the order dated 28.12.2016 upon the writ respondents, for the time to start running against the writ respondents who were then to be held accountable for non-compliance of the Court’s directions. 4. This contempt petition, therefore, warrants its dismissal on account of non-compliance of the directions of the writ Court by none else than the petitioners themselves afflicting its institution with delay and latches. Accordingly, the contempt petition is dismissed. (RAHUL BHARTI) JUDGE SRINAGAR: 19.08.2025 “Mir Arif”
