ORAL ORDER The petitioner's son is undergoing sentence for the offences punishable under Sections 302, 143 and 147 of IPC. The application for general parole by the petitioner's son is rejected by the impugned Endorsement dated
30.05.2025. The second respondent has rejected the application, without a detailed discussion, but referring to a report from the jurisdictional Assistant Police Commissioner [CCRB], and this Report is also perfunctory in stating that petitioner is accused of having committed murder and therefore, his application for Parole must be rejected.
The Court, on the previous hearing date, upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Advocate, while expressing the prima facie opinion on the merits of the application, has permitted the learned Additional Government Advocate to secure a report. Though no

report is filed, the learned Additional Government Advocate proposes to rely upon the Assistant Commissioner’s Report dated 27.05.2025 and when queried, the learned Additional Government Advocate is categorical that there are no contra conditions for grant of general parole. In the light of the afore, the following:
ORDER a. The petition is allowed.
b. The second respondent is directed to grant general parole to the petitioner's son subject to the terms as contemplated under the Karnataka Prisons and Correctional Services Manual 2021 on receipt of certified copy of this order.
c. The second respondent shall impose such conditions as shall be necessary to ensure that the petitioner's son marks

attendance regularly with the jurisdictional police.
