Petitioner has approached this Court that his application for appointment on compassionate ground is still not considered though his mother died in harness on 02.10.2023 and immediately thereafter application was filed on 06.08.2024. 3. Learned counsel appearing for Respondents-2 to 4, on instructions, submits that matter is still under consideration before Respondent-2 (Chief Engineer (Distribution) Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd., Agra Region, Agra) and a decision will be taken within a short period. 4. I have considered the above submissions. Since the matter is seized with Respondent-2, therefore, it is observed that final decision will be taken within a short period taking note of judgments passed by Supreme Court in Bank of Baroda and others vs. Baljit Singh, 2023 SCC OnLine SC 745 and Malaya Nanda Sethy v/s State of Orissa and Ors., 2022 SCC OnLine SC 684. In case there is any legal impediment, the same shall be communicated to petitioner within a short period. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not entered into merit of claim of petitioner regarding compassionate appointment. 6. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
