NATH-SR GP THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 03.04.2025, THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING: WP(C) NO. 17830 OF 2024 2 2025:KER:29625 JUDGMENT The petitioner was employed on contract basis on the post of Clinical Services Officer as the DISHA Strategy under the Kerala State AIDS Control Society, on the basis of a written test conducted on 17.02.2023 by the Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. The petitioner's appointment was purely on contract basis at a consolidated salary of Rs.46,800/- per month for a period up to 31.03.2024. The petitioner was given extension up to 31.03.2025. The petitioner was continuing on the extended term of the contract of appointment; it has been informed that the petitioner’s work and conduct were not satisfactory, and her performance evaluation fell short of the expectation and required parameters. The society, therefore, terminated the contract vide order dated 18.05.2024 in Ext.P11. Before terminating the contract, the petitioner was issued with a show cause notice to which she filed a WP(C) NO. 17830 OF 2024 3 2025:KER:29625 reply. However, the response to the show cause notice was found unsatisfactory and her extended period of contract came to be cancelled with immediate effect. The petitioner has filed the present writ petition challenging the said order, and this Court granted an interim order, which remain in operation. Now, the petitioner’s extended period of contract has also got expired on 31.03.2025. The petitioner has no right to continue on contractual employment after her contractual period got over, and even the extended period got over on 31.03.2025. Therefore, I find no justification for keeping this writ petition alive as the petitioner’s contractual employment (extended period) got over on 31.03.2025.
