Hon'ble Manoj Kumar Gupta,J. Hon'ble Ram Manohar Narayan Mishra,J. 1.The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding the respondent No.2. i.e. U.P. Advocates Welfare Fund Trustee Committee to 'provide the legal claim of the petitioner within some specific period'. 2. The petitioner is an advocate and it appears that he deposited his membership fee for taking the benefit of the fund on 26.12.2023. Subsequently, he made an application for the return of the said amount. He has been intimated by the Public Information Officer that the lock-in period under the said scheme is five years and therefore, it would not be possible to return the amount before the expiry of the said period, which would come to an end in the year 2028. At that stage, petitioner can submit his resignation and opt to go out of the scheme and in that event, the amount would be refunded. 3. The scheme is not under challenge. The petitioner deposited the amount knowing-fully well about the condition of the scheme. As such, we find no good ground to direct the respondents to release the amount contributed by the petitioner in the said fund even before expiry of lock-in period. 4.
