Gurmukh Singh was also found to be in possession of 1280 tablets of Lomotil (commercial quantity). 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated. He submits that the petitioner is in custody since 07.12.2025; 7 ½ months have elapsed. He submits that the petitioner has clean antecedents; investigation stands completed; final report has been submitted; out of 11 witnesses, none has been examined; trial will still take a sufficiently long time and no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner in custody any longer. 5. Per contra, learned State counsel has opposed the bail application stating that the offence allegedly committed by the petitioner is serious in nature. 6. I have considered the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties. 7. The petitioner was allegedly found to be in possession of an intermediate quantity of contraband of 720 tablets of Lomotil (diphenoxylate hydrochloride). He is in custody for the last 7 months and 12 days. Investigation has been completed. Antecedents of the petitioner are clean. Final report has been submitted. Out of 11 witnesses, none has been examined. Trial will, therefore, take a sufficiently long time and no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner in custody any longer. 8.
