This writ petition has been filed with the following prayer:- "issue writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.2 (Additional Commissioner (Administration), to Varanasi Mandal, Varanasi) decide the substitution application filed by the petitioner in Revision NO. 1137 of 2017 (Computerized No. C201714001180) (Smt. Sita Devi (deceased) vs. Arun Kumar and another} within stipulated period." 2. It is contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that substitution application filed by the petitioner in Revision NO. 1137 of 2017 (Computerized No. C201714001180) (Smt. Sita Devi (deceased) vs. Arun Kumar and another} is pending consideration before respondent no. 2. The sole prayer made in the writ petition is for expeditious disposal of the same. 3. As no useful purpose would be served in keeping the matter pending, the writ petition is being disposed of, at the admission stage, without calling for counter affidavit or issuing notice to private respondents, with a direction upon respondent No.2 to decide substitution application filed by the petitioner in Revision NO. 1137 of 2017 (Computerized No. C201714001180) (Smt. Sita Devi (deceased) vs. Arun Kumar and another}, in accordance with law, after hearing all affected parties, preferably within a period of one month from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 4. With the aforesaid directions, writ petition stands disposed of. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not adjudicated the matter on merits.
