Mr. Deep Prakash Bhatt, learned counsel for the applicant. 2. Mr. V. S. Pal, learned A.G.A. for the State. 3. Present applicant Raju Painter @ Carpenter @ Nadeem Parvej is praying for regular bail in relation to case crime no. 172 of 2009 arising out of FIR dated 31.10.2006 wherein the present applicant has been implicated for the offence punishable under Section 302 IPC. 4. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the applicant that though the applicant was named in the FIR but he was arrested on 09.12.2024. When a query was made by this Court why he has been arrested at a belated stage, the counsel for the applicant submits that he was never been called by the police. 5. On the other side, Mr. V. S. Pal, learned A.G.A. for the State submits that the applicant was absconding since last more than 15 years. He submits that the present applicant is the prime suspect of the crime and charge sheet was filed against him being absconder. 6. Learned counsel for the State further submits that the trial against the present applicant is going on and star witnesses have already been examined and the trial is at a concluding stage. 7. In such an eventuality since the applicant was absconding since last more than 15 years and most of the star witnesses have already been examined and the trial is at a concluding stage this Court is of the view that the applicant 2025:UHC:2630 should not be enlarged on bail. 8. Accordingly, the bail application is rejected. 9. The Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial as early as possible preferably within a period of four months from today. 10.
