The prayer made in the instant petition is for a direction to the respondents to pay compensation to the petitioner in pursuance of award dated 27.09.2021 by Competent Authority under the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956 in respect of the acquired land of the petitioner. 3. Learned counsel for the respondent has placed on record the instructions received from the Competent Authority according to which a sum of Rs. 8,90,671.00/- has been paid to the petitioner vide a cheque dated 06.02.2025. 4. Counsel for the petitioner admits the said payment. He, however, submits that interest from the date of award till date of actual payment has not been paid. 5. We leave it open to the petitioner to approach the Competent Authority in respect of his payer for payment of interest. In the event any application is filed, the Competent Authority will examine the same and pass appropriate orders within four weeks. 6. The petition stands disposed of.
