The petitioner has applied for reissue/renew of the passport, vide Application Reference No.24-0015749576 dated 13.09.2024. 3. The case is that the police verification report refers to Case Crime No.1263 of 2015, in which the petitioner is not named. The status report on the website shows that the police verification report is not clear and application is under review, at the Regional Passport Office. It is submitted that no decision is being taken. 4. Having regard to the nature of controversy, and the submissions made, we dispose of the instant petition with direction to respondent No.2 to obtain clear report from the police authorities regarding the criminal case in question and take decision on the application of the petitioner within a period of six weeks' from the date of communication of the instant order.
