For Petitioner : Mr. T.Balakrishnan For Respondent : Mr.M.Mahaboob Athiff Counsel for State 1/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Cont.P(MD)No.3772 of 2025 ORDER The present Contempt Petition has been filed alleging non-compliance with the order passed by this Court in W.P(MD).No. 17612 of 2024, dated 03.12.2024. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had filed a claim petition under Section 22 of the Employees’ Compensation Act before the 1st respondent/Commissioner for Employees’ Compensation. The 1st respondent, by award dated 15.05.2023, directed the 4th respondent to pay a sum of Rs.2,23,913/- towards compensation and Rs.2,40,182/- towards medical expenses, totalling Rs.4,64,105/-, together with interest at 12% per annum. Since the said award was not implemented, the petitioner filed W.P.(MD) No.17612 of 2024, wherein this Court directed the 2nd respondent/District Collector to recover the award amount under the provisions of the Revenue Recovery Act and pass appropriate orders. Pursuant to the said direction, the District Collector initiated proceedings under the Revenue Recovery Act, recovered a sum of Rs.50,000/- from the 4th respondent and 2/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis Cont.P(MD)No.3772 of 2025 remitted the same before the Commissioner for Employees’ Compensation. The amount has already been received by the petitioner. 3. It is further submitted that, except the said amount, no other movable or immovable property stands in the name of the 4th respondent, thereby disabling the District Collector from proceeding further under the Revenue Recovery Act. An action taken report has also been filed before this Court. 4.
