This petition is filed by the sole accused seeking quashing of the proceedings pending in Cr.No.149/2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 504 and 324 of IPC.
2. Today, the complainant and the accused are present before this Court and have filed a joint affidavit under Section 320 read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
3. On being questioned, the complainant submits that he has not suffered any grievous injuries and that the incident was a mere verbal altercation between him and the accused near the cricket ground, which subsequently led to the registration of the crime. He further states that the parties have amicably settled the matter and that he wishes to withdraw all the allegations made in the complaint.
4. Be that as it may, this Court has perused the charge-sheet materials. On examination of the wound certificate, it is evident that the injuries are simple in nature. The complainant has categorically expressed his intention not

Although the accused has been charge-sheeted for the offence punishable under Section 324 IPC, the injuries namely, a minor injury over the left ear and a superficial scratch on the left side of the forehead are found to be simple in nature. Hence, this Court is satisfied that the complainant has voluntarily consented to the quashing of the proceedings.
5. It is true that an offence under Section 324 IPC is non-compoundable. However, in view of the fact that the injuries are simple and the parties have arrived at an amicable settlement, this Court considers it appropriate to invoke its inherent powers under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to secure the ends of justice.
6. Accordingly, the following order is passed:
ORDER
i) The petition is allowed.
ii) The proceedings in C.C.No.2023/2025, arising out of Crime No.149/2024, for the offences punishable under Sections 504 and 324 IPC,

All pending interlocutory applications, if any, stand
