W. P. (C) No. 31699 OF 2019 ………………………………………………. Dated this the 03rd day of April, 2025 J U D G M E N T The writ petition is filed seeking the following reliefs:-
“i) Declare that the petitioners are entitled to get promotion as Senior Grade Assistants and Selection Grade Assistants in the 1st respondent University with effect from the 12.11.2019; the date on which their juniors in service were given promotion as per Exts.P16 and P17 orders. ii) Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any other writ,
order or direction commanding the respondents to grant promotion to the petitioners as Senior Grade Assistant and Selection Grade Assistant in the University service effect from the
12.11.2019.
(iii) Pass such other order or direction as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper on the facts and circumstances of the case.”
2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submit that pending the writ petition, petitioners were promoted as Senior Grade and Selection Grade Assistants by proceedings dated 25.01.2021. It is also submitted that the 2nd writ petitioner is no more. This is recorded. In view of the above, nothing further survives for
