For Petitioner: Mr.K.A.Ravindran For Respondents: Mr.A.Arun Babu Standing Counsel https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CONT P No. 3438 of 2025 __________ Page2 of 4 ORDER (Order of the Court was made by The Hon’ble Chief Justice) The contempt petition has been filed alleging non-compliance of the order dated 03.04.2024 passed in W.P.No.8948 of 2024, whereby the writ petition was disposed of with a direction to the Corporation to conduct the survey within four months and to take action in accordance with law, if any encroachment is noticed. 2.Learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation submitted that survey was conducted and around 18-19 encroachments have been identified and consequently, notices have already been issued to vacate the premises. However, since the encroachers have claimed for alternate accommodation, learned Standing Counsel prays for a week’s time to remove the encroachments. 3.In view of the aforesaid submission, the respondents are granted a week’s time from today to remove the encroachments and to file a compliance report before the Registry. Accordingly, this contempt petition stands closed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to re-open the contempt petition, if any cause of action arises. (SUSHRUT ARVIND DHARMADHIKARI, CJ.)
