ORAL ORDER
This petition is filed by the sole accused under Section 483 of BNSS, 2023, praying to grant bail in Crime No.155/2025 of Srirangapatna Rural Police Station registered for offences under Section 118(1), 126(2), 109, 352, 351(2), 351(3) of BNS. 2. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned Additional SPP for respondent/State. 3. Learned counsel for petitioner would contend that there was a quarrel between petitioner and the first informant and in the said quarrel both sustained injuries and complaint filed by the first petitioner has not been accepted by the police. The alleged weapon is a cutter knife used to cut paper. The injured has been discharged from hospital and there is no danger to his life. The petitioner is in judicial

custody since 31.07.2025 and therefore, he is not required for custodial interrogation. The petitioner's father is paralysis patient. His sister has come for delivery and his house has fallen down. On these grounds, he prayed for grant of bail. 4. Per contra, learned Additional SPP contends that the first informant has sustained 9 injuries and out of them, one is grievous in nature and others are simple in nature. The said injuries have been caused by one steel cutter/paper cutter and it has been seized under mahazar. The injuries found on the first informant are on vital parts and that itself indicates that with an intention to cause death, an attempt has been made. The investigation is in progress. On these grounds, she prayed for dismissal of the petition. 5. Having heard learned counsels, the Court has perused the FIR, complaint and other materials placed on record. 6. On the statement of the injured / first informant, a case came to be registered against the petitioner in Crime

No.155/2025 of Srirangapatna Rural Police for the aforesaid offences. On 29.07.2025, when first informant was moving on his bike, at that time this petitioner came and assaulted with knife on his chest, ribs and other parts of the body and caused injuries and he has been admitted in hospital and the said incident has been witnessed by one Suni and Manoj. The petitioner has been arrested and is in judicial custody since 31.07.2025.
The weapon used has been seized and it is one steel cutter / paper cutter. The injured has been discharged from the hospital and there is no danger to his life. As major portion of the investigation is over, the petitioner is not required for custodial interrogation since he is in judicial custody from 31.07.2025. The petitioner is having father stated to be paralysis patient and sister has come for delivery. Considering all these aspects, the petitioner has made out a case for grant of bail with conditions. In the result, the following:

ORDER Petition is allowed. Petitioner is granted bail in Crime No. 155/2025 of Srirangapatna Rural Police Station, subject to the following conditions: (i) Petitioner shall execute a personal bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh only) with one surety for the like sum to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Court. (ii) Petitioner shall not tamper the prosecution witnesses either directly or indirectly. (iii) Petitioner shall appear before the trial Court on all dates of hearing, unless exempted and co-operate for speedy disposal of the case.
