The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding the respondent- Regional Passport Officer, Bareilly to decide his application for grant of passport forthwith. 2. Sri Arun Kumar Pal, advocate appearing on behalf of Regional Passport Officer states that the petitioner was issued a show cause notice on 21.12.2023 in relation to Case Crime No. 753 of 2016. The petitioner did not respond to the said notice. Thereafter, another notice was issued to the petitioner on 27.06.2024 and again he did not respond. Consequently, his application has been closed. The show cause notices issued to the petitioner have been produced before us. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner is unable to dispute that the petitioner has not submitted reply in response to the show cause notices. 4. Consequently, we dispose of the instant petition with liberty to the petitioner to apply afresh and in which event, the application shall be processed, expeditiously, strictly in accordance with law. .
