JUSTICE R DEVDAS ORAL ORDER Learned Additional Government Advocate takes notice for all the respondents. 2. The prayer in the writ petition is to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent-Tahsildar to effect khatha in pursuance of Saguvali Chit vide LND/SR(3)/24/1978-79, dated 12.03.1978 at Annexure-A in the name of the petitioner in respect of land bearing Sy.No.50, measuring to an extent of 1.00 Acre situated at Byalalu village, Tavarekere Hobli, Bengaluru South Taluk, Bengaluru. 3. It is the contention of the petitioner that he was granted land at the hands of the ‘Committee for Regularization of Unauthorized Occupation’ in the year 1979 and Saguvali Chit was also issued in favour of the petitioner. The name of the petitioner was also mutated in - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:33557 WP No. 28483 of 2024 the revenue records in terms of M.R.No.45/1985-86. However, the representation made by the petitioner for effecting the khatha in respect of the land in question in his name has not been considered, till day. Therefore, a direction is sought to the Tahsildar to effect the khatha in respect of land in question, in the name of the petitioner. 4. Having regard to the prayer made in the writ petition and submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the considered opinion that the respondent-Tahsildar, Bengaluru South Taluk, Bengaluru, is duty bound to consider the representation given by the petitioner and pass necessary orders for effecting the khatha in respect of the land in question in favour the petitioner. Needless to observe that the Tahsildar shall verify from the records, the orders passed by the Committee, the Saguvali Chit Issue Register, Mutation Register and other contemporaneous records to find out about the genuineness of the grant made in favour of the petitioner. If it is found that the land was granted in - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:33557 WP No. 28483 of 2024 favour of the petitioner and the name of the petitioner was mutated in respect of the land in question, then the Tahsildar shall proceed to effect the khatha, in accordance with law. 5. The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. With these observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. 7. Learned Additional Government Advocate is permitted to file memo of appearance within a period of four weeks from today.
