O R D E R 16.04.2025
1. In the instant contempt petition, the petitioner alleges non-compliance of the
order dated 23rd May, 2022, passed in OWP No. 335/2019, in terms whereof the respondents came to be directed to arrange and pay a sum of Rs. 86,000/- along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date the amount became due to the petitioner, within a period of two months and in the event the said amount is not released in favour of the petitioner within the stipulated period, the respondents would be liable to pay enhanced interest at the rate of 9% per annum to the petitioner on the entire amount.
2. Compliance report has been filed by the respondents, wherein it is being stated that they have complied with the order of which non-compliance has been complained.
3. At paragraph 3 of the compliance report, following is stated:-
“That in compliance to the order dated 23.05.2022 passed by the Hon’ble High Court, the concerned department has considered the said order in letter and spirit wherein the requisite payment of Rs. 86,000/- together with interest @ 6% p.a. which tent amount to Rs. 2,15,000/- in total satnds Arif Hameed I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document 23.04.2025
paid to the petitioner through his account No. 0127010100000324 vide TV No. 21 of 24.04.2024.”
4. Having regard to the aforesaid specific stand taken by the respondents, it appears that the respondents have complied with the order.
5. Accordingly, the contempt notices issued are recalled and the contempt proceedings are closed.
