JUSTICE ASHOK S.KINAGI ORAL ORDER The petitioner filed this writ petition seeking for the following reliefs: "1. Issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to take corrective and effective steps pursuant to Annexure-A and B for releasing and paying the UGC arrears to the petitioners by considering the representations dated 05.04.2025 and 02.05.2025 made by the petitioners vide Annexure-D and E and further issue a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to take corrective and effective steps pursuant to Annexure-C for releasing and paying the arrears Ph.D. increment to the 2nd petitioner in view of the similar and identical order dated in 31.07.2024 passed in WP no.17753/2024 vide Annexure-F 2. Issue such other orders, directions as deemed fit in the circumstances of the case and allow this writ petition with exemplary costs, in the interest of justice." - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:50547 WP No. 17981 of 2025 2. Brief facts leading rise to the filing of this writ petition are as follows: The similarly placed petitioners filed the writ petition in W.P.No.17753/2024 and the said writ petition came to be disposed of vide order dated 31.07.2024. The petitioners herein are similar and identical to the petitioners in the aforesaid writ petition and seeking the similar relief. It is contended that the respondents have not paid the arrears of UGC for certain period due and payable to the petitioners. The principal of the petitioner's college has calculated the UGC arrears payable to the petitioners. The arrears of Ph.D increment of the petitioner No.2 was also not paid by the respondents for certain period. The petitioners submitted their representations dated 05.04.2025 and 02.05.2025 to pay the arrears. The respondents have not taken any action on the representations, submitted by the petitioners. Hence, this writ petition. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:50547 WP No. 17981 of 2025 3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Additional Government Advocate for the respondents. 4. Learned Additional Government Advocate submitted that if reasonable time is granted to the respondents, the respondents would consider the representations dated 05.04.2025 and 02.05.2025. 5. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Government Advocate, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representations dated 05.04.2025 and 02.05.2025 and pass the appropriate order in accordance with law within 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
