ORDER WAS MADE THEREIN AS UNDER:
CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SACHIN SHANKAR MAGADUM ORAL ORDER This petition is filed seeking to quash the proceedings pending in C.C.No.1534/2019 on the file of Addl. Civil Judge and JMFC, Chinthamani, for the offence punishable under Sections 324, 326, 504, 506 of IPC.
2. Today, an affidavit has been filed by the second respondent–de facto complainant. The complainant is also 0personally present before this Court. In the affidavit, he has categorically stated that though there was some dispute between himself and the accused which led to the registration of the present crime, the parties have since

HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:38086 CRL.P No. 12247 of 2025 resolved their differences in order to preserve their friendship and cordial relationship. He has further affirmed that he does not wish to pursue the allegations any longer.

On a specific query made by this Court, the second respondent, who is present in person, has unequivocally submitted that he has not sustained any injury in the alleged incident which formed the basis of the complaint. Having regard to the affidavit filed and the statement made before this Court, it is evident that the matter has been amicably settled between the complainant and the accused and that the complainant does not desire to proceed with the case.

This Court is therefore of the considered view that in the light of the amicable settlement and the express withdrawal of all allegations by the complainant, continuation of the criminal proceedings would serve no useful purpose and would amount to an abuse of the process of law. Though the offence punishable under

HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:38086 CRL.P No. 12247 of 2025 Section 324 IPC is not compoundable under Section 320 Cr.P.C., this Court, in exercise of its inherent powers under Section 482 Cr.P.C., deems it just and proper to put an end to the proceedings to secure the ends of justice.
ORDER (i) The Criminal Petition is allowed. (ii) The proceedings in C.C. No.1534/2019, arising out of Crime No.354/2019 registered by Chintamani Rural Police Station, which are pending on the file of the Additional Civil Judge & JMFC, Chintamani, for the offences punishable under Sections 324, 326, 504, and 506 IPC, are hereby quashed.
