Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a resident of Village Tadiyal Bakhli (Chaukhutia), District Almora and her name was entered in the voter list, but now it has been removed from voter list of Village Tadiyal Bakhli and entered in the voter list of Nagar Panchayat Chaukhutia. It is submitted that the petitioner has given a representation on 15.04.2025 (Annexure-3 to the writ petition) to the District Magistrate, but it has yet not been decided. Learned State Counsel submits that the representation given by the petitioner will be decided within a period of two weeks from today. Learned counsel for the petitioner further submits that if the notification for election is published, perhaps the petitioner’s case may not be entertained. Therefore, it is submitted that a direction may be issued to decide the representation within two weeks or before the date of notification of the election, whichever is earlier. Learned State Counsel gives a statement that the representation (Annexure-3 to the writ petition) shall be decided within two weeks or before the date of notification of the election, whichever is earlier. This Court takes on record the statement given by the learned State Counsel. The writ petition is disposed of with the directions to the respondents to decide the representation dated 15.04.2025 (Annexure-3 to the writ petition) within a period of two weeks or before the date of notification of the election, whichever is earlier.
