With the consent of the learned counsels on either side, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal. (2)The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the 4 th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.04.2025, and to remove the encroachment occupying the cemetry land. (3)The petitioner is the resident of Kottakuppam Village, Vanur Taluk, Villupuram District. The petitioner states that there are 750 families in the village which comprises two Wards-Ward No.10 and Ward No.11, under the Kottakuppam Municipality. The petitioner further states that the residents of the Village belong to Adi Dravidar Community and they were using cemetry provided by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department for a long time. While so, the fishermen of Nadukkuppam Village were occupying the cemetry land by parking their fishing boats in the cemetry. As a result, a Peace Committee Meeting was held on 01.03.2025, in the presence of Revenue Commissioner of Villupuram District. In the Peace Meeting, two demands were placed. One, for immediate removal of the fishing boats parked in the cemetry and https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 28905 of 2025 the other, relating to the encroachment of the cemetry by way of construction of a concrete building. Though the Revenue Tahsildar was instructed to take immediate action in pursuance to the Peace Committee Meeting, no action was taken. The petitioner therefore sent a representation to the respondents on 07.04.2025 requesting them to inspect and take necessary action against the encroachers of the cemetry land. Despite receipt of the representation, the respondents did not respond. Therefore, the petitioner filed the above writ petition for the aforesaid relief. (4)Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. (5)Under the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited prayer in the writ petition, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the 4 th respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation.
