The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent No. 2 to issue character certificate to the petitioner for which an application is stated to be pending since December 2024. It is submitted that a report in this regard was called for by the District Magistrate from the police authorities on 18th December, 2024 and the matter is pending. Counsel for the State respondents submits that the application of the petitioner for issuance of character certificate would be dealt with within a time bound period. Having regard to the aforesaid, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.2 to examine the claim of the petitioner for issuance of the character certificate and pass an order thereon within a period of four weeks from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
