With the consent of learned counsel for the parties, 6 civil original contempt petitions shall stand disposed of by this common order (details whereof are given at the header of the order). 2. The contempt petitions have been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 12.03.2025 passed in CWP-6489- 2016 and connected writ petitions. 3. The relevant para of order dated 12.03.2025 is reproduced as under:- “8. This Court is to see the welfare of the employees. Though, on an earlier occasion, in the case of similarly situated employees, the compensation was enhanced by this Court from Rs.20,000/- to Rs.30,000/- for each completed year but as of now, keeping in view the settled principle of law settled by Division bench of this Court in Sukhbir Singh (supra), the fixed compensation is Rs.50,000/- for each completed year. Hence, keeping in view the settled principle of law, settled by the Division bench of this Court in Sukhbir Singh (supra), the award of the Labour Court in all the petitions is modified with the modification that the petitioner(s) will be entitled for compensation to the tune of Rs.50,000/- for each completed year instead of Rs.20,000/- as directed by the Tribunal and the rest of the terms and conditions of the impugned award(s) will remain the same.” MOHD AYUB 2025.09.09 14:55 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment. On the last date of hearing, in compliance of order dated 17.07.2025, learned counsel for respondent brought six cheques amounting to Rs.1,00,000/- for each of the petitioner in all the six contempt petitions, which were handed over to learned counsel for the petitioner and the matter was adjourned to today i.e. 04.09.2025. 5. Today, respondent has brought six cheques amounting to Rs.1,19,000/- for each of the petitioner in all the six contempt petitions drawn on Punjab National bank dated 03.09.2025, which are handed over to learned counsel for the petitioner. Photocopies of the same are taken on record. 6. Learned counsel for the petitioner is satisfied with the same and contends that order dated 12.03.2025 passed in CWP-6489-2016 has been fully complied with. 7. In view of the same, the contempt(s) is purged and rule(s) is discharged.
