After examining the present petition seeking direction, on 18.02.2026, following was recorded:- “1. At the outset, learned State counsel has filed the status report dated 17.02.2026 in Court today, which is taken on record. Office to tag the same at appropriate place. A copy thereof has been handed over to the counsel for the petitioner. 2. In para No.9 of the status report, it has been clearly stated that no offence was found against the petitioner – Gurbax Kaur, and the Investigating Officer has recommended that she be declared innocent, which recommendation has been approved by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural). However, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that no action is being taken by the police against the actual culprits, though at the first instance, the petitioner was arrayed as an accused in the FIR. Even para No.25 of the status report reveals that the petitioner – Gurbax Kaur and her son, namely, Harpal Singh, have already been declared innocent in the present case. 3. It is noticed that the FIR in the present case was registered on 22.06.2024; however, nothing has been disclosed in the status report as to who has been found to be the actual culprit(s). Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner – Gurbax Kaur was initially harassed by being falsely implicated as an accused and, despite the FIR having been registered as far back as 22.06.2024, no action has been taken by the police against the persons actually involved. 5. List again on 07.04.2026. 6. Learned State counsel is directed to re-examine the matter and assist this Court on the next date of hearing.” 2. Today, learned State counsel refers to paragraph No.26 of the status report dated 06.04.2026, and submits that during investigation, involvement of one of the accused – Sewak Singh s/o Lakhwinder Singh, is found, and he is now need to be arrested. Even investigation qua other suspects is also going on, including respondents No.4 to 7. 3. In view of the explanation submitted in the status report dated 06.04.2026, this Court finds that no further direction is required to be issued by this Court. However, for further grievance, if any, it will be open for the petitioner to file an appropriate application under the law before the Court of learned Area Magistrate. 4. Petition stands disposed of accordingly. Pending misc. application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
