The case of the petitioners is that they purchased 100 sq. yards of Arazi No. 45M by sale deed dated 23.03.2023 from Mohd. Idrish Alam. His name has been duly mutated on basis of sale deed. The office of District Magistrate/Commissioner of Police, Prayagraj has notified a list of properties, which relates to Atiq Ahmad and his family members and they have enforced ban on sale and purchase of the properties mentioned in the said list. The said land is also included therein. The petitioners have represented on 29.06.2024 before Commissioner, Prayagraj Division, Prayagraj for lifting the ban in respect of the subject land, as according to the petitioners, it has no connection with Atiq Ahmad or any member of his family. 2. The prayer made in the writ petition is for direction to respondents no. 3 and 4 to lift the restrictions and for further direction to decide application dated 25.06.2025. 3. Sri Rajiv Gupta, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel appearing for the State - respondents submits that District Magistrate would be competent to examine the issue and in case, any representation is filed before him, it will be decided. 4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to make fresh representation along with true attested copy of the instant order before respondent no. 3 and in which event, the same Versus Counsel for Petitioner(s) : Mansoor Ahmad Counsel for Respondent(s) : C.S.C.
