Sathish For R3 COMMON ORDER The present writ petitions have been filed to direct the respondents Transport Corporation to settle the interest for the belated payment of retirement benefits such as Gratuity, Commutation of Pension, Provident Fund and other retirement benefits payable to the petitioners with interest. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners were employed in the respondents-Transport Corporation. After attaining the age of superannuation, the petitioners were retired from service as a Selection Grade Conductor. However, their retirement benefits were paid belatedly without paying any interest. It is the submission of the petitioners that they are entitled for the interest for the belated payment. In this regard, the petitioners submitted a representation dated 19.05.2025 to the respondents Transport Corporation and such representation is yet to be considered by the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 27437 of 2025 respondents. 3. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents Transport Corporation would fairly concede that in view of the similar orders passed by this Court in W.P.Nos.40031, 33742 and 35806 of 2024, they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount. 4. In view of the above submission made by the learned Standing Counsel for the respondent, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of terminal benefits, from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5. With the above directions, these Writ Petitions stand disposed of.
