PUBLIC PROSECUTOR The Court made the following Order: This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of BNSS, has been filed by the petitioners herein/A1 and A2, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.1 of 2025 of S.Rayavaram Police Station, Anakapalli District. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioners herein and others for the offences punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 r/w 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’). 3. Case of the prosecution is that, on 02.01.2025, on receipt of credible information about illegal cultivation and possession of ganja, the Sub-Inspector of police, along with his staff and mediators rushed to back side of Srinivasa Lodge, filed of Gurram Nanaji, S.Rayavaram 2 Mandal, and caught the accused in possession of 110 Kgs of Ganja. The contraband along with other material was seized under the cover of mediators report. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 5. The petitioners herein were arrested on 02.01.2025 and since then they have been in judicial custody. The quantity of contraband involved in present crime is 110 Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the case is still under investigation and some more witnesses are to be examined. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, petitioners does not deserve for grant of bail at this stage. 6. Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed. _____________________ K.
