Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State- respondents. 2. Petitioner is calling in question the order of transfer from remote area to accessible area. It is the case of the petitioner that he has requested for a remote area again and more particularly, for retention in Uttarkashi. 3. Per contra, learned Standing Counsel would submit that the petitioner’s home district and native is Uttarkashi, and hence, the respondents-authorities have instructed him to submit that the Rules do not permit Group ‘A’ or Group ‘B’ officer to be retained in his/ her home town. 4. It is seen that the petitioner has been given a posting in Nainital and in that view of the matter, no prejudice is being caused by the posting at Nainital. We are 1 2025:UHC:5074-DB of the view that a request for transfer to a particular post cannot be made at the option of the employee. 5. In that view, the instant petition stands rejected. 6.
