By way of filing this writ petition, the petitioners are seeking direction against the respondents to determine the vacancies of Assistant Engineers for promotion for the years 1997-1998 to 2008-2009. The cause title of the writ petition indicates that most of the petitioners have crossed the age of superannuation, hence under the changed circumstances, this petition has become infructuous. Dismissed as rendered infructuous. However, the petitioners would be at liberty to move an application for revival of this petition, in case, any cause of action/grievance still survives.
